A cross sectional study was conducted in three Districts (Ilala, Kinondoni, and Temeke) of Dar es Salaam Region in June 2005. The aim of the study was to determine health workers knowledge on Mother to Child Transmission of HIV and infant feeding options available for HIV positive mothers. The study objectives were to determine knowledge of health workers on MTCT and infant feeding options available for HIV positive mothers. Determining explanatory factors of these levels of knowledge, source of the health workers information and problems faced by the health workers when giving advice to HIV Infected mothers.
