This paper aims to promote academic inquiry into the need for innovative library 2.0 technologies, by demonstrating the work undertaken by Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) Library in an effort to integrate web 2.0 technologies in its functions to enhance the delivery and promotion of its services. The paper, firstly, examines the utilization of web 2.0 in academic libraries across the world, secondly, presents the methodology used, thirdly, demonstrates the application of web 2.0 at MUHAS library, by describing various tools, and how MUHAS library is making use of them, and provides challenges, lessons learnt, conclusions and recommendations.
