Agricultura familiar e transferência de tecnologias: o caso dos cafeicultores do Projeto de Assentamento Dirigido Pedro Peixoto, Acre.

This thesis analyzes the process of technology transference in the context of family farming, in agrarian reform settlement, in the state of Acre. In this aspect evaluates the limitations connected to the adoption of technologies generated by agricultural research, for the development of coffee culture in the state. The emphasis referred to the potential of technologies generated by agricultural research, to the level of awareness of the families about the role of the research institution, as well as the identification of the resources available to access technological information by local farmers. This research work was developed in the Managed Settlement Project Pedro Peixoto, more specifically in the main site of familiar production of coffee, part of the municipality of Acrelândia. Was chosen as the unit of analysis 31 familiar units of production, where the cultivation of coffee is presented as relevant productive agricultural activity. Using quantitative and qualitative methodologies were applied questionnaires which collected data conformed a database in SPSS format and were held interviews with semi-structured interviews among actors participant in this process. The research data clearly demonstrate the importance of coffee culture for the development of families of Managed Settlement Project Pedro Peixoto in Acrelândia. At the same time, highlights the weakening of the actions of research and development, coupled with an operational fragility of the technical assistance in the field. There is a timid effort of the State in promoting, effectively, an agricultural policy that considers the importance of coffee culture. Moreover, the results indicate the need to implement new methods of research and development, recognizing the effective participation of social actors at all stages, converging to adopt technologies that meet the peculiarities of the focused category.Essa dissertação analisa o processo de transferência de tecnologias no contexto da agricultura familiar, em assentamento de reforma agrária, no estado do Acre. Nesse aspecto avalia as limitações ligadas a adoção de tecnologias geradas pela pesquisa agropecuária, para o desenvolvimento da cafeicultura no estado. A ênfase referiu-se ao potencial das tecnologias geradas pela pesquisa agropecuária, ao nível de conhecimento das famílias quanto ao papel da instituição de pesquisa, bem como a identificação dos meios disponíveis para acessar informações tecnológicas por parte dos agricultores assentados. O presente trabalho de investigação foi desenvolvido no Projeto de Assentamento Dirigido Pedro Peixoto, mais especificamente no polo de produção familiar de café, parte pertencente ao município de Acrelândia. Elegeuse como unidade de análise 31 unidades familiares de produção, em que o cultivo de café se apresenta relevante como atividade agrícola produtiva. Utilizando metodologias quantitativas e qualitativas, aplicaram-se questionários cujas informações coletadas conformaram um banco de dados no formato SPSS e realizou-se entrevistas com roteiro semi-estruturado entre atores participantes do processo. Os dados da investigação demonstram nitidamente a relevância da cafeicultura para o desenvolvimento das famílias do PAD Peixoto de Acrelândia. Ao mesmo tempo, evidencia o enfraquecimento das ações de pesquisa e desenvolvimento, conjugada a uma fragilidade operacional da assistência técnica no campo. Constata-se a atuação tímida do Estado em promover, efetivamente, uma política agrícola que considere a importância da cultura do café. Ademais, os resultados indicam a necessidade de implementar novos métodos de pesquisa e desenvolvimento, reconhecendo a participação efetiva dos atores sociais em todas as etapas, convergindo para adoção de tecnologias que satisfaçam as peculiaridades da categoria em foco
