Perfect little ladies: the ideal woman s representation through the pages of the magazine Illustração Pelotense between 1920.

The present study intends to problematize the representative profile of women from the elite of Pelotas between 1919 and 1922, through the pages of the magazine Revista Illustração Pelotense, an important publication, edited and printed in Pelotas, which circulated in several cities in Rio Grande do Sul between 1919 and 1927 and whose biweekly print run was intended announce the social events lived by the most respectful families of the city and surroundings, as well as to promote the literary world by publishing poetry, short stories, chronicles and excerpts from works of famous authors. Its importance is evidenced in its longevity, in the expressive print run of its issues and in the fact that it reached several cities, becoming a considerable source to analyze what the feminine social roles disseminated among the privileged classes during the castilhista period were. With this purpose, the research focused on the discourses that were conveyed about women, for women and also on texts that were signed by women, placing the analyses in the gender discussions.O presente estudo destina-se a problematizar o perfil representativo das mulheres da elite pelotense entre os anos de 1919 e 1922, através das páginas da Revista Illustração Pelotense, importante publicação editada e impressa na cidade de Pelotas que circulou por várias cidades do Rio Grande do Sul entre os anos de 1919 e 1927 e cuja tiragem quinzenal se destinava a noticiar os acontecimentos sociais vividos pelas mais respeitadas famílias da cidade e arredores bem como promover o mundo literário publicando poesias, contos, crônicas e trechos de obras de autores famosos. Sua importância evidencia-se na sua longevidade, na tiragem expressiva de suas edições e no fato de alcançar diversos municípios tornando-se uma fonte considerável para analisar quais eram os papéis sociais femininos disseminados entre as classes privilegiadas durante o período castilhista. Com esse intuito, a pesquisa concentrou-se nos discursos que eram veiculados sobre as mulheres, para as mulheres e também em textos que eram assinados por mulheres, situando as análises nas discussões de gênero
