The paper aims the analysis of status and naturalization process o f Polish population in Rhône Alpes region of France after the Second World War. Naturalization is understood as the obtaining o f French citizenship by foreign emmigrants. Many forms of naturalization can be distinguished - legal and declared being the teo basic ones. Emmigration of Poles to Rhône-Alpes region started during the First World War. A particularly intense inflow of Polish people took place after signing a Polish-French Convention on emmigration of Polish workers to France in 1919.
