In this article the authors present the evolution of cooperation, its types, strengths and weaknesses and use by innovative companies. The cooperation is viewed as the external one in Chesbrough’s open innovation paradigm. The example of open innovation effects consists Procter & Gamble case study.W artykule przedstawiono ewolucję współpracy, jej rodzaje, wady i zalety oraz wykorzystanie w firmach innowacyjnych. Współpraca rozumiana jest tu nie tylko jako tworzenie zespołów zadaniowych w przedsiębiorstwie ale przede wszystkim jako forma współpracy przedsiębiorstw w procesie tworzenia innowacji.
