OCD in children and adolescents

Includes bibliographical references.The focus of this research paper is to better understand obsessive compulsive disorders, also known as OCD, in children and adolescents. I feel that in order to teach children and adolescents with OCD we, as teachers, need to understand the disorder. I want to be able to help students that may be in my classroom with this disorder. If I understand the disorder I can find the best way to teach the student. I will also be able to help the other students in the class to understand what that child is going through. This capstone project will assist me in understanding what the different signs and symptoms are, the causes if any, what types of treatment are available to the children and adolescents, the common behaviors the children may exhibit, the process of diagnosing a child with OCD, and what teachers can do in the classroom, by reviewing different literature.B.S.Ed.
