The European CMEA countries began to participate in the international flow of capital in the seventies. Their participation in this sphere was supported by the International Investment Bank. An expression of their active involvement in the international flow of capital was their attempt to participate in various forms of capital transactions, e.g.with in the framework of the OPEC banking cartel system. Other forms of their activity included : contracting credit and loans, capital cooperation, links with international financial institutions (IMF), and capital transactions among the CMEA member countries.
