The article contains a critical analysis of the non-capitalist path of Russia's development as voiced by the nationalists (narodniki). The analysis is focussed on: premises of selection by the nationalists of the non-capitalist path of development, economic growth factors in the nationalists concept, causalities of non-capitalist industrialization and the state's role in this process as well as the nationalists postulates regarding development of social production forms in Russian agriculture.
