Includes bibliographical references (pages [28]-30)The purpose of this study was to determine differences between fundamental frequency in speakers with and without vocal nodules during two speaking tasks: a reading task and a sustained vowel /a/. Audio recordings of ten women with vocal nodules and ten women without were used for analysis. CSpeech was used to analyze fundamental frequency. Results indicated a significant difference between fundamental frequency during a sustained vowel and during reading for the normal group only. No significant difference was found between the subjects with and without vocal nodules.M.A. (Master of Arts
