It also assessed the degree of concordance among children with hearing impairments, their parents and teachers with regard to educational, social, and behavioral issues. Ten children, between the ages of 8 and 12 years, with documented sensorineural hearing loss were interviewed directly with regard to these issues. Responses to items on a survey developed for this study were gathered through a structured interview process. Paper and pencil companion surveys for parents and teachers were completed independently.
