Pepperdine Chamber Choir: Why International Travel is Essential for Young Musicians

This presentation is based on the Pepperdine Chamber Choir’s international tour to Lausanne, Switzerland and the Prague Choral Festival, which occurred on July 7th-21st, 2014. LoRee Wilkinson and Andrew Leidenthal will explain the impact this trip had on the students, and they will discuss the experience of traveling through Europe, performing in the Pepperdine Chamber Choir, as well as participating with professionals in the Prague Proms International Music Festival. From hours of long rehearsal on Gabriel Faure’s Requiem to touring Old-town Prague, this experience has shaped Pepperdine’s musicians into being well rounded communicators of Pepperdine’s Mission. They will discuss the importance of these kinds of experiences for young musicians, as well as how this trip has benefitted the university
