The purpose of this study was to investigate whether or not television can influence viewers’ opinions of homosexuality. My research question was, “Does watching television containing homosexual characters influence tolerance of homosexuality among Pepperdine University Seaver Undergraduate College students?” Tolerance was defined as a fair, objective, and permissive attitude towards a group who\u27s different from one\u27s own. I was looking for a positive correlation between the number of television shows watched with a LGBT character and positive attitudes towards homosexuals.
