In ordinary reinforced concrete, to protect steel bars from corrosion is one of the most important problems. In order to solve this problems, the allowable tensile stress of bars is limited under certain values. From the point of corrosion of steel, instead of steel bars the use of precast prestressed concrete elements is undoubtedly effective, especially in applying to ocean structures. Using the precast concrete elements, not only for the reinforcement but also for the form, this kind of composite structures will be more economical. The author has continued on studying fundamentally this kind of determinate composite structure for several years, and the results concerning these has been published in JSCE and JCI etc..
