Fluoxetine hdrochloride, more commonly known as Prozac, is classified as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and is used to treat depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder, and bulimia nervosa.
