Abstract The effect of tyres on the behaviour of an articulated vehicle was examined in the winter tyre tests executed in Ivalo airport during dates 13th of March to 15th of March 2012. The tests were organized by Nokian Tyres along with their partners. Test vehicles were two quite new, structure-wise similar 43 t full-trailer articulated vehicles. The other articulated vehicle was equipped with new tyres while the other with worn tyres. The tyre tests consisted of braking tests, double lane change tests in accordance with ISO 3888-1 standard as well as acceleration tests.
