Abstract This publication comprises seven papers presented at the XIV Conference of Translation Studies (XIV Kääntämisentutkimuksen päivät), which was hosted by the Nordic Philology unit of the Department of German, French and Scandinavian Languages at the University of Oulu. The contributors came from the Department of Modern Languages and Translation Studies (University of Tampere), the Department of Modern Finnish and Translation (University of Vaasa) and the Department of German, French and Scandinavian Languages (University of Oulu). Most focus on theoretical and practical problems in translating.
