The Relationship between Ethics and Anthropology in Immanuel Kant’s Philosophy: Moral and Pragmatic Anthropology

Kanta tekstos sastopamas norādes uz praktiskās filozofijas otru daļu – morālo antropoloģiju, kuru viņš nav izstrādājis. Kants ir izstrādājis mācību, kas nav identiska ar morālo antropoloģiju – pragmatisko antropoloģiju, kuras attiecības ar viņa morāles teoriju nav noteiktas. Pretēji Kanta pētniecībā sastopamajai morālās antropoloģijas noraidīšanai vai ielasīšanai pragmatiskajā antropoloģijā, promocijas darbā tiek pamatota iespēja morālo antropoloģiju skatīt kā konkrētu Kanta tekstos izklāstītu cilvēka iedabas koncepciju, bet pragmatisko antropoloģiju skatīt kā morālās antropoloģijas daļu. Promocijas darbā tiek aizstāvēta tēze, ka morālā antropoloģija ir cilvēka iedabas koncepcija, kura paredz, ka cilvēku raksturo dzīvnieciskuma, cilvēciskuma un personības dispozīcija uz labu un slieksme uz ļaunu, un pragmatisko antropoloģiju var skatīt kā konceptuālu cilvēciskuma dispozīcijas izvērsumu.One of the most important issues in Immanuel Kant’s ethics studies concerns its relationship with experience-based knowledge on human nature, i.e., anthropological knowledge. In his texts, Kant refers to a moral (or practical) anthropology that he calls the second part of practical philosophy. He never developed this teaching. However, Kant developed a pragmatic anthropology – teaching that is not identical with moral anthropology and has indefinite relationship with Kant’s moral theory. Unlike attempts to dismiss the problem of moral anthropology or identify it with fragments of pragmatic anthropology texts, doctoral thesis is devoted to argue for moral anthropology as a particular teaching to be found in Kant’s texts and pragmatic anthropology as its part. It is argued that moral anthropology is a conception of human nature describing it in categories of predispositions to good (to animality, humanity and personality) and propensity to evil and that pragmatic anthropology can be interpreted as a conceptual elaboration of the predisposition to humanity
