Lattice dynamics of crystalline germanium: isotopic effect

Šajā darbā tiek pētīta izotopiska efekta ietekme uz kristāliska germānija režģa atomu termiskām svārstībām ar rentgenabsorbcijas spektroskopijas un molekulārās dinamikas metodēm. Darbā tiek novērota divu izotopu (70Ge un 76Ge) atoma masu atšķirības radītās izmaiņas kristāliskā germānija rentgenabsorbcijas spektra sīkstruktūrā un tiek piedāvās metodes šī efekta kvantitatīvai raksturošanai. Tiek veikti arī molekulārās dinamikas aprēķini kristāliskam germānijam, iegūtie rezultāti tiek izmantoti gan tieši germānija atomu svārstību amplitūdas atrašanai, gan kā līdzeklis rentgenabsorbcijas spektru interpretācijai, ļaujot novērtēt daudzkārtējas izkliedes procesu ietekmi.In the present work the influence of the isotopic effect on atomic thermal vibrations in crystalline germanium is studied using two methods: x-ray absorption spectroscopy and molecular dynamics. The changes in the fine structure of x-ray absorption spectra due to differences in the atomic mass for two isotopes (70Ge and 76Ge) are observed, and the methods for the quantitative analysis of the isotopic effect are proposed. Also the molecular dynamics simulations of crystalline germanium are carried out. Obtained results are used directly for the evaluation of the amplitude of atomic thermal vibrations and also as a tool for the reliable interpretation of x-ray absorption spectra, allowing to estimate the influence of the multiple scattering processes
