Darba mērķis bija raksturot no cilvēka taukaudiem izdalītu mezenhimālo cilmes šūnu in vitro senescenci. Darbā izmantotas no 8 donoriem iegūtas MCŠ, kas kultivētas līdz proliferācijas aresta sasniegšanai. MCŠ senescence tika raksturota pēc (1) fenotipa (morfoloģija, proliferācija, adipo- un osteogēnais diferenciācijas potenciāls, b-galaktozidāzes ekspresija, metaboliskā aktivitāte, peroksīdu uzkrāšanās), (2) gēnu ekspresijas un (3) telomēru relatīvā garuma izmaiņām. Rezultāti norāda, ka MCŠ raksturīga morfoloģijas, proliferatīvo un diferencēšanās spēju variācija starp donoriem.
