MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) tīklu tehnoloģija ir Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) biedrības standartizēta datu plūsmu pārsūtīšanas tehnoloģija, kas balstīta uz pakešu marķēšanu ar etiķetēm, lai nodrošinātu datu plūsmu maršrutēšanu tīklā. Darbā tiek aplūkota MPLS arhitektūra, tās darbība, kā arī noskaidroti iemesli, kas telekomunikāciju pakalpojumu sniedzējiem un lielajiem uzņēmumiem varētu radīt vēlmi ieviest MPLS tehnoloģiju tīklā.
