The aim of the research was to clarify whether or not there is a connection between the SES level a person belongs to and how many social groups he/she adds itself to. According to the research of Markus and Kitayama (1991) and of researches carried out in Lithuania (Beresneviciene&Shirai, 2005) the following hypothesis was posed: The social structures of individuals belonging to a high social and economic status (SES) are less expressed in Self concept than of those belonging to a lower social and economic status (SES).
