RESUMO Introdução: A displasia de desenvolvimento da anca (DDA) é uma patologia congénita, cujo rastreio é baseado no exame físico sistemático, existindo controvérsia sobre quais as crianças que deverão ser submetidas a métodos imagiológicos. O protocolo de rastreio utilizado na nossa maternidade inclui o exame físico a todos os recém-nascidos, complementado por ecografia das ancas, sempre que existam fatores de risco para DDA (suspeita clínica, antecedentes familiares, apresentação pélvica, gemelaridade, malformação dos membros inferiores, oligoâmnios).
