NaCl-modified VCexxCu(1-x) mixed oxide catalysts were found to be effective for propylene epoxidation using molecular oxygen as the oxidant. Hydrogen addition in the feedstock can significantly enhance the PO selectivity and the stability of the catalyst. XPS results also show that Cu-0 may be the active phase for epoxidation.
