Aim To investigate the population history and demographics of Jerdons pitviper, Protobothrops jerdonii, and elucidate how the unique physical conditions and heterogeneous mountain environments resulting from the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau shaped the genetic diversity and evolutionary history of the species.
