Axial species and temperature profiles of Ni-based catalyst were investigated during the partial oxidation of methane (air as oxidant) to syngas in conventional fixed-bed reactor with and without an O2-distributor (CFR-OD and CFR). The experimental profiles reveal that an olivary temperature-change profile and a safe operation can be obtained when 20% air was cofed with CH4,H2O, remained 80% air was fed to the system through O2-distributor in CFR-OD for low inlet temperture and O2/CH4 ratio
