In 2006 the United Kingdom government funded the establishment of the Global Child Dental Health Taskforce to help improve the dental health of young children and especially those from a disadvantaged background. This project has led to the creation of the charity, the Global Child Dental Fund, and the Senior Dental Leaders programme.
