Twenty-seven frozen chickens were purchased from retail outlets in Khartoum State; they were produced by nine companies (six large and three small). The study aimed to isolate and compare the incidence and the count of salmonella. The results showed that the mean values of salmonella in crop skin of the chickens of large and small companies were 2.143 and 1.926 log10 cfu/g, respectively. The mean values of salmonella in under wing of the chickens from large and small companies were 2.056 and 1.837 log10 cfu/g, respectively, and these from breast meat (shallow) were 1.931 and 1.1693 log10 cfu/g, respectively.
