Serological and bacteriological studies on caprine brucellosis were carried out to determine the prevalence of the disease in goats in Nyala area, South Darfur State, Western Sudan. Milk Ring Test (MRT), Rose Bengal Plate Test (RBPT), Serum Agglutination Test (SAT) and trials to demonstrate and isolate Brucella organisms were made for the diagnosis of the disease. A total of 4961 samples (3569 serum.1282 milk, 86 lymph nodes, 22 vaginal swabs and two foetal stomach contents) were examined. Out of the 3569 serum samples tested using RBPT, eleven samples (0.3%) showed positive results for Brucella antibodies.
