Oral health survey data are essential for governmental decisions about dental care and preventive programs. Oral prevalence studies are important to know the state of health and the needs for treatment. The goals of this study were to obtain base line information on the prevalence of denture-related oral lesions in an elderly Sudanese population sample and to investigate differences in the presentation of these findings in relation to gender, subject's age, age of the denture, denture hygiene, denture condition, tombac and smoking habits.
