A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted to study the epidemiology of visceral leishmaniasis among the population of El howata town; with a main objective to study the epidemiology of visceral leishmaniasis The method of data collection used in this study was a well designed questionnaire; also direct agglutination test was done to detect infection. A multi stage stratification sampling technique was used to select (399) from the households in the study area. The main results finding visceral leishmaniasis prevalence was high in the study area (8.8 %).
