The Content Of Lead In Foods Vended In The

This study has taken place at Khartoum Governorate in areas of heavy traffic density in Elsaug Alarbi. Twenty-one samples of vended foods had been collected from bus stations. The results obtained showed the presence of toxic metal lead (pb) residues in 76.19% of the examined samples. About 38.10% of the examined samples found to have lead (pb) content higher than the average content of lead (pb) in foods. So it is concluded that vended foods are exposed to pollution in areas of heavy traffic and this may constitute risks to human health. On the light of findings obtained, it is recommended that food regulations should prohibit selling of foods in such areas
