This paper presents a simple and efficient numerical technique for solving transient multidimensional heat transfer problem of melting processes and then compares the solution to an experimental result. The proposed technique comprises an enthalpy-based method for solving the problem by a finite difference scheme, in which lump system behaviour being assumed for each node.
