Microscale phase change heat transfer exists extensively in different kinds of microfluidic systems such as microreactor, microfuelcell, microevaporator, microcondenser, micro heat pipe, microbubble actuator. It is important to study the microscale phase change phenomena in microfluidic systems in order to design and operate these systems well. In the present study, three typical microscale phase change phenomena including microscale flow boiling, microscale flow condensation and microbubble dynamics on a microheater were studied at length.
