Tourism is a complex, composite industry involving not only disparate economic agents, but also local communities and diverse environmental interests. The successful development of tourism in a manner that satisfies most people requires the active cooperation of many parties. Hence the analysis of (rural) tourism requires a review of the actions and interactions of many stakeholders.
