We apply a previously reported measure of dialog\ud cohesion to a corpus of spoken tutoring\ud dialogs in which motivation was measured.\ud We find that cohesion significantly predicts\ud changes in student motivation, as measured\ud with a modified MSLQ instrument. This suggests\ud that non-intrusive dialog measures can\ud be used to measure motivation during tutoring
