Abstract: The electromagnetic tools with super short pulse excitation of transmitter – receiver devices (SSP sounds) are oriented for complex well navigation and open well logging. A special transmitter radiates a short pulse of a given form of 1÷3 ns duration and 0.1÷1 MWt power output into the near well space. The 1-st part of the work contains the mathematical investigation of pulse excitation of the transmitter to be a coated cylinder in lossy media. The Laplas transformation technique and the Sommerfield integrals are used in the 2-nd part of the work to obtain the electromagnetic responses at the receivers.
