Copper-rich massive sulfides are an important source of Pt and Pd in magmatic Ni-Cu-platinum group element ore deposits. At the McCreedy East deposit, Sudbury, they constitute a classic magmatic assemblage of chalcopyrite, cubanite ± pentlandite, located in sharp-walled footwall veins.
