Autoridade e autoritarismo em Max Horkheimer

This dissertation focuses on the analysis of the study by Max Horkheimer on the problem of authority and authoritarianism in this essay Authority and Family from 1936. The constant presence of this phenomenon in social life is treated by Horkheimer within a dialectical and overall view of the history of Western society. The vision of the Frankfurter thinker has strong influence of the thought of Hegel, Marx and Freud in understanding the relationship between individual and society. To further elucidate these concepts, it was necessary a study on the economic issue as a strong link in human relationships as well as a study on the coercive character inherent in the formation of social being. The awareness of the presence of authority and authoritarian character is a requirement that leads human being to learn to face them, as they will never be extinguished.SEDUC/PA - Secretaria de Estado de EducaçãoA presente dissertação se concentra na análise do estudo de Max Horkheimer sobre o problema da autoridade e do autoritarismo presente no ensaio Autoridade e família de 1936. A presença constante deste fenômeno no convívio social é tratada por Horkheimer dentro de uma visão dialética e totalizante da história da sociedade ocidental. A visão do pensador frankfurtiano possui forte influência do pensamento de Hegel, Marx e Freud na compreensão da relação entre indivíduo e sociedade. Para elucidar melhor estes conceitos, fez-se necessário um estudo sobre a questão econômica como forte elo de ligação nas relações humanas, assim como, um estudo sobre o caráter coercitivo inerente à formação do ser social. A tomada de consciência sobre a presença da autoridade e do caráter autoritário é uma das exigências que leva o homem a saber enfrentá-las, visto que jamais serão extintas
