O epicentro do Hotel Central: arte e literatura em Belém do Pará, 1946-1951

This dissertation discusses the presence of contemporary literature of the 40’s, mainly the influence of the existentialist philosophy, on literature of the young poets who published in the Arte-Literatura supplement, which circulated with the newspaper Folha do Norte between the years 1946 and 1951. This work of social history of literature demand viewing in the literature of the young people of Café Central a disenchantment over it’s recent past, both in the political-social as in literature. Este trabalho de história social da literatura procura visualizar na literatura dos jovens da Turma do Central um desencanto em relação ao seu passado recente, tanto no âmbito político-social quanto no literário. O trabalho também analisa o papel do suplemento Arte-Literatura na atualização e formação da identidade intelectual desses jovens que mudaram os rumos da literatura local
