The research study was conducted in Hanansif area in Kinondoni municipality, in order to assess the level and limitation of community participation in solid waste management services. The results of the study was envisaged to assist KIWODET, a CBO providing solid waste collection services in the area, to formulate a workable strategy that could improve and facilitate sustainable provision of solid waste management services. A cross section survey design was adopted, a structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The sample size was 5 percent of the target population of head of households residing in Hanansif area. The respondents were selected at random.
