A comprehensive geochemical/geophysical model incorporates the current and relevant stratigraphic, petrologic, hydrogeologic, geochemical, and material data associated with a candidate repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada. A geochemical/geophysical model will provide support and confidence to the Systems Performance calculations, determine whether the data collected as part of the site characterization provide the information needed by the design and performance assessment task, and provide the most accurate and referenced foundation on which to base the radionuclide transport calculations.
