Actomyosin extracted from bladder muscle of dog was purified, and its viscosity was determined under various conditions in order to compare the same with that from skeletal muscle. The extracting was extremely difficult presumably because of a low content, though the AM extracted was similar in appearance to that from skeletal muscle. Following addition of ATP to myosin-B and to the purified AM, the typical three phases of viscosity change were observed, but in a remarkably light grade as compared with that of skeletal muscle.
