札幌醫大病理學教室における最近5年間の惡性腫瘍の統計的研究

This report deals with a statistical study of malignant tumors based on 467 consecutive autopsy materials during the recent five years and on 186 biopsy materials of the malignant tumors at the Department of Pathology, Sapporo University of Medicine. The data were compared with those in the previous reports in Japan and other countries. 1) Of the 497 necropsy cases, the malignant tumors were 28.3% and the carcinoma 21.9%. These percentages were much higher than those in the previous reports in Japan. and were apparently similar to those in the recent reports in Europe. 2) The data also indicated a remarkable increase of cancer of the lung, prostate, and pancreas in Japan, which coincides with the recent tendency in other countries. 3) In our necropsy materials the uterine cancers were observed more frequently than the breast cancers, but in the biopsy specimens the breast cancers were relatively frequent. The relation between the breast and the uterine cancers appears to be approximately the same as that in Europe. 4) In regards to the relations between the histological classification and the prognosis of cancer, usefulness of C. P. L. classification (Imai) was recognized : in the cases of gastric cancer the frequency of metastases among the cases of P. and L. was higher than in C
