Radiation therapy for brain neoplasms is known to induce major side effects such as radionecrosis and oncogenesis. Secondary tumors are most frequently meningiomas, sarcomas (especially fibrosarcoma), and gliomas. Although radiation-induced osteosarcoma (RIOS) in skulls is a rare complication, the most cases reported are the development in facial bones or paranasal sinuses after radiation therapy for retinoblastomas. We report two cases of radiation-induced osteosarcoma in paranasal sinuses after surgery and radiation for frontal gliomas.
