We analysed data on ABO blood type obtained from 823 medical students during a nine year period (1989-1997). Based on the data, we calculated the following phenotype and gene frequencies : A-type 36.5%, B-type 24.4%, 0-type 29.0% and AB-type 10.1%; gene A : 0.2690, gene B : 0.1909 and gene 0 : 0.5401. These frequencies revealed by our analysis are almost the same as those previously reported for the general population of Hokkaido
