We performed clinical and immunohistochemicalstudies on MOS-1antigen,a newmarker for pancreatic cancers.The antigen was detected by a new monoclonal antibody,MOS-1,An enzyme immunoassay was devised to measure the value of the MOS-1antigen in serum. Serum Values of MOS-1antigen exceedingthe mean plus three standard deviations for 134 healthy control blood samples were found in a high proportion of patients with pancreatic cancer (71%). The MOS-1antigen values in serum from patients with benign diseases,including chronic pancreatitis,were within the normal range in 95% of the cases.
