Dans le cas du processus de coulée semi-continue de l'aluminium des phénomènes qui se produisent à différents échelles influencent la formation des macro et micro structures: germination, fragmentation, des branches de dendrites, croissance de grains et le mouvement des grains ainsi que leur histoire thermique à l'échelle microscopique.
