Increased sales of ready-made meals mean that the environmental impacts of the households are changed and the degree of processing in industry is increased. Process integration methods are briefly presented and partly used in this study to identify parts of the process in a Swedish slaughterhouse and meat processing plant where there is a potential to save energy.
