Quality Management and Good Agricultural Practices

The peruvian agrarian vision is defined as following ¡§Organized farmers, competitive, profitable, social, economic and environmental sustainable, in a democratic context with equality of opportunities¡¨, according to the official governmental documents. This objective revisit great importance because near 50% of the active population depends on the agrarian sector and because our country is privileged in resources and biodiversity. For this, is a social and economies imperative to work harder, hand to hand with the private enterprise, the civil sector and the international cooperation to achieve the objectives. Actually, the Minity of Agriculture is seriously commitment to improve its role: normative, onentator, promoter and regulator. This is a great challenge for developing counties as Peru, characterized for the concentration of l5asic science and to be scarce and inefficient also, fragmented sector, great gaps between high and short farmer, low conscious to preserve our resources under the poverty jurisdiction. This situation creates a vicious circle, reinforcing the poverty in the rural areas. In Peru, after a lot of experiences, we noticed that the unique way to assure the foods are enhancing farmer¡¦s capabilities in technical, management and organization aspects, so the farmers lead their doctrine, becoming in an active subjects of these process. In this sense, in the Ministry of Agriculture we proposed ¡§Management Quality and Good Agricultural Practices-PromBPA¡¨. We adopted the EurePGAP Protocol as a strategy because its development proposal is integral: healthy for consumers, occupational safety in harmony with the environment. Also, is easy to understand for the farmers. We are conscious that it will be a long process, we face enormous internal and external obstacles, but we are convinced that we are in the right way
